Kara has had diabetes for almost 8 years and is currently on the OmniPod. She is 16 years old and is now a junior in high school.
Kara played competitive travel soccer for 8 years and danced for most of her life, but now plays lacrosse for her high school and on other area teams. She also was on track and cross country in junior high and elementary school. Soccer and lacrosse involve a lot of running, so it was always important to her to be a good runner.
Besides running and other sport, Kara is in National Honor Society, is an officer on her school's student council, and is in service club. Kara is looking forward to being a part of TeamCWD and running the half marathon in Orlando!
