Katie Daugherty has had type 1 diabetes for nearly 21 years. She has competed in 1 marathon and too many half-marathons, 10Ks and 5Ks to count. Her next marathon will be Chicago in early October 2008, and then it's onto Disney! In addition to being an avid runner, Katie is a senior program manager at Abbott Diabetes Care. At Abbott, she is currently specializing in Navigator commercial development and artificial pancreas research activities. Navigator, is, of course, a godsend during marathon training!
