Greetings. Peter Nerothin here, proud member of this year's Team CWD marathon team.
I've run a handful of these races, as well as a few triathlon events. I'm a big fan of finish lines, I suppose, because they give me a sense of purpose and keep me motivated to stay fit. I consider exercise to be a fundamental pillar of successful diabetes management. The more I'm grooving my body, the better my control seems to be.
Finding ways to stay active is more than just a hobby for me--it's a career. I work with an amazing group of people at a nonprofit fitness and adventure travel company called Insulindependence. We're currently managing a documentary/outreach project called Triabetes that's following a group of type 1 athletes through Ironman training in 2008.
If you're inspired by Team CWD and are looking for ways to get involved, feel free to reach out to me via the Insulindependence website!
