Back to Marco Island 2007 Conference Marco Island 2007 Youth Program
Friday, January 5, 2007 -- All Ages - Elementary to Teens
9:00 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. We will all hang around the Capri ballroom until the kids are registered. At this time we will break the whole group up into teams of 6 or 7 children of mixed ages. We will issue each team bandanas and have them work on their team cheer that they need to use through out the morning.
9:15 a.m. - 10:10 a.m. Each team will be given wood, thread, nylon, plastic sheets, staples, rubber bands, tape, glue and line to construct a wind worthy kite. The object of this event is to build the team as well as a functioning kite! Once the kites are completed we will head straight out to the beach to see how well they fly!
10:10 a.m. - 10:40 a.m. The next event will be giant bull's eye out on the beach. We will stay in the same groups that we used for the kite building. Each child will be given two chances to throw a Frisbee into the marked area to score points for their team. Point value is 25 for bull's eye, 15 for the second ring and 10 for the third ring.
10:40 a.m. - 11:10 a.m. All the kids will take a break as well as touch base with their parents.
11:10 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. The obstacle course is next on our agenda. We will have 3 teams line up next to each other on duplicate courses to race for the best time. The obstacle course consists of running around a tee ball, jumping a hurdle (18" high), followed by two hula hoops that each person must pass through and tossing a ball into the bucket from approximately 3 feet away. Once the person completes all the events they hand off to the next player in line.
12:20 p.m. We will go back inside to the Capri Ballrooms to meet the parents.

9:00 a.m. - 9:10 a.m. We will all hang around the Capri ballroom until the kids are registered. At this time we will break the whole group up into teams of 6 or 7 children of mixed ages. We will issue each team bandanas and have them work on their team cheer that they need to use through out the morning.
9:10 a.m. - 10:10 a.m. All the teams will now be challenged to make a functioning racecar. The catch is we only provide a paring knife, toothpicks, and fruits/vegetables to build with. Each team will be given a set amount of time to create and design a car to race against the other teams.
10:10 a.m. - 10:40 a.m. We will now head down to the waters edge at the beach in our same teams to build an all-natural sand sculpture. Creativity and an eye for detail are 'musts' in this event. We will only offer buckets and shovels so that the kids have to be creative!
10:40 a.m. - 11:10 a.m. All the kids will take a break as well as touch base with their parents.
11:10 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. After the break all the kids can have free time with our giant games on the beach. We have basketball, checkers, and jenga and connect four. We will help the kids along but most of these are games they play at home ... only giant!
12:20 p.m. We will go back inside to the Capri Ballrooms to meet the parents.
