CWD Cruise Day One
Boarding the Cruise Ship
December 29, 2003

CWD families - about 100 people - from all corners of the U.S. and Canada boarded our ship, Sovereign of the Seas, and set off for a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas. Many thanks to Animas Corporation for providing sponsorship for the medical support team that provided the much needed safety net for our families' peace of mind. CWD families gathered poolside in the late afternoon to meet each other, get the kids together, and discuss the agenda for the next few days. Royal Caribbean provided many onboard activities as well as port activities that each family could choose from each day. CWD families planned to gather each morning after breakfast for a short discussion group, and then we all dined together at dinner. In between? Well, vacation, of course! The highlight of the first evening… Melissa Ringley's karaoke rendition of Stand By Your Man. It was a standing ovation performance!
