CWD Cruise Day Three
Nassau, Bahamas
December 31, 2003

[ Report Intro | Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4 ]

The Sovereign of the Seas docked quite early in Nassau, and families headed out to shop in the straw market, browse the shops in the regular market area, and enjoy other attractions such as the dolphin encounter and the swim with stingrays. Several families spent the day at the Atlantis resort enjoying the beach and other watersports. On board, it was quiet - but a great time to get a massage or spa treatment! Several CWD moms joined the step class in the fitness facility prior to dinner... great idea and great company! Dinner that evening was a formal affair, and most CWD families donned fancy clothes for the meal. The teens and children were simply gorgeous in their tuxedos and gowns! The food was incredible - whether one wished to dine in a 'heart healthy' manner or simply indulge, the food was delicious and beautifully prepared and presented. The ship stayed in port to celebrate the New Year, and there was a huge party under the stars on Decks 11 and 12, complete with live music and a buffet that extended the entire length of the ship. At midnight, as the clock struck 'the New Year,' all the ships in the harbor sounded their horns while fireworks exploded overhead and a parade headed down the main street of Nassau. It was an incredible vision, and a spectacular way to ring in the New Year. As we left port and headed out to open sea under the stars, it truly felt like a new beginning.
