Friends for Life: Orlando 2005 - Comments from Participants
Here are selected comments from participants:
- If one of these days I find Aladdin's lamp, my first wish would be to be able to bottle the days at the CWD meeting with all the experiences, people, joys, smiles, tears, knowledge.... My second wish would be to be able to open the bottle every day and take a little of this memorable, healing and enriching experience to illuminate my life.... My third wish, that each one of us can have a bottle.
--The Escobars
- The taught became the teachers. Kids, who wanted to help; lent a hand to those who were new. Parents, who attended; tended to those who were unsure and unaware first-timers. Kids, who knew what it was like not to be included; reached out to others who stood alone. Those, who walked alone; grasped the hand of those who searched for a friend. Session participants, who looked for answer; supplied the questions to those new in the room. Those, who bounced around carefree in pigtails; readied themselves for college. Those, who were shy just yesterday; lead the activities today. Those, who always looked for the time to play; looked for ways to lead. Those, who were asked to inspire; became awed by the courage of children.
The Children With Diabetes, they forged to helped their children ... they changed the world. The world they taught now becomes the teachers. Thank you for all you have done for the last 10 years and will continue to do in the years to come.
--The Karlya Family, CWD Conference 2005
- As always...the conference was great-beyond our expectations! However, I'd like to sum up how I feel in two sentences.
The worst thing that ever happened to our family was my granddaughter being diagnosed with diabetes.
The best thing that ever happened to our family was becoming involved with "Children with Diabetes"
Our humble THANK YOU.
