Friends for Life: Orlando 2005 - Tuesday

Most families had arrived in Orlando by Tuesday, and many spent the day in the parks. The Italian group and their host families visited Sea World, while other CWD families jumped on the Disney buses and spent the day park-hopping. Most people ended up poolside by the late afternoon, enjoying the Dig Site pool and a cold beverage! Within the Convention Center, the Exhibit Hall was being built. It does take more than one day to build a climbing wall or put together a flight simulator, so our exhibitors started early Tuesday morning! Also, the Quilt for Life boards were being constructed and set up, in preparation for the volunteers who hung more than 420 quilt squares for display during the conference. A Volunteer Reception was held Tuesday night for those volunteers and their families interested in getting together before the official opening of the conference. Blue volunteer shirts and volunteer assignments were distributed by Volunteer Coordinator Lauren Lanning, and last minute volunteer slots were filled by moms, dads and teens who happily donated their time.
