CWD staff will have glucose meters available to check blood sugars in an emergency. Your child may bring their own meter to do blood glucose checks. CWD will not be responsible for lost kits, so please make sure your child's name and your phone number are in the kit.

Martial Arts Demo and Dancercize
Presenter: Martial Arts Team and Dancercize Team
Location: Meet in the Yellowtail Ballroom

Marc Blatstein and Fran Ott share their mastery of martial arts in a fabulous demonstration for all ages. Marc -- who has had diabetes since childhood -- and Fran will be joining us for the fifth year in a row. Both share a passion for martial arts, and Marc, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a child, helps teach kids to continue to pursue their dreams.

The Dancercize team will share their passion for movement with the kids.

Location: Sports Central (Oceans Ballroom 1-4), meet in Yellowtail

For those who are interested in more Sports Time, join our faculty for some football or basketball practice, or work with Fran Ott and Marc Blatstein on martial arts. Please remember to dress appropriately for whichever activity interests you!

In My Shoes
Presenter: Scott Scolnick

Scott Scolnick will use role playing to teach tweens about the challenges of living well with diabetes.

What is Glucose and Why Do I Care
Presenter: Kim Kelly
Location: Anemone Breakout Room

An interesting (and fun!) exploration of glucose, how the body uses it, and why it is important to keep it at a good level.

Diabetes World Journey: My Diabetes Adventure
Presenter: Clare Rosenfeld
Location: Wedgwood Ballroom – Everyone is Invited

Come watch and listen as IDYA Founder Clare Rosenfeld shares her moving tale of discovery to learn about diabetes in the developing world. Clare will inspire you as she shares the truth, the hope and the amazing stories of world cooperation and advocacy.
