Special Guest - Will Cross
Raised in England until age 12, Cross has worked continually for more than 24 years to overcome obstacles that accompany diabetes. At 18, he received HRH Prince Charles' special permission to participate in Operation Raleigh, an international program that organizes young people from 17 to 23 to do service projects around the world.
On May 23, 2006, Cross reached the summit of Mt. Everest and completed the NovoLog® Peaks and Poles Challenge - reaching the highest peak on each continent and visiting the North and South Poles. This remarkable achievement shows clearly that people with diabetes can accomplish anything.
Cross wants to show the tens of millions of people with diabetes that they don't have to be defined by their disease. He wants to prove that there are no diabetics -- only people who happen to have diabetes -- and that those with the condition can manage it successfully.
