Friends for Life: Orlando 2006 - Saturday
Saturday dawned bright, clear – and hot! – for the Education for CWD Foundation Benefit Day at Sea World. Many families headed over to the park right when it opened at 9:00 a.m., and had already been on several rides and seen a show or two by the time the CWD BBQ began at 11:30. CWD families gathered in the Sea Harbor Pavilion for a yummy picnic lunch and some great entertainment.
An interactive DJ played music and got everyone dancing (in the sun – yikes!), while Sea World characters paid visits to the CWD kids, posing for photos and signing autographs. Later in the afternoon, one of the famous Clydesdale horses paid a visit to the Pavilion, along with several other Sea World critters. In an adjacent pavilion, hair braiders and face painters provided additional fun for kids and families.
Many thanks to Abbott Diabetes Care for once again stepping forward as the Platinum Foundation Sponsor, allowing all proceeds from Saturday's event to be donated to the Foundation to support scholarships for future conferences.
See you next year!
