At least 300 CWD families had arrived in Orlando by Tuesday, and many spent the day having an early Sea World day, while others headed to Disney for a park day.
Within the Convention Center, the Exhibit Hall was being constructed by Freeman, the company that lays all the pipe and drape and helps constructs the big, elaborate booths of our conference sponsors. Additionally, the Quilt for Life perf boards were set up around the perimeter of the exhibit hall in preparation for almost 600 quilt squares to be displayed!
The Volunteer Reception, sponsored by BD, was held at the poolside terrace on Tuesday evening for those volunteers and their families interested in getting together before the official opening of the conference. Conference volunteer t-shirts, white with Caribbean blue lettering, were handed out to each volunteer, and then everyone made ice cream sundaes and enjoyed the pool! It was a warm evening, the weather cooperated, and everyone had a great time! (Next year, though – name badges!)

Some of the CWD Staff and key volunteers posed before the opening of the Volunteers Reception on Tuesday evening.
