Special Guest - Chris Dudley

Chris Dudley is the president and founder of The Dudley Foundation, which was established in 1994 in order to help children pursue their dreams. The Dudley Foundation (www.chrisdudley.org) is dedicated to kids and diabetes, and provides educational programs, advocacy, and supports diabetes research. Through the foundation, he also established the only basketball camp in the country for children with diabetes – the Chris Dudley Basketball Camp for Kids with Diabetes -- outside of Portland, Oregon. The camp celebrated its tenth year this summer. A former NBA Center, Dudley spent 16 years playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, New Jersey Nets, Portland Trailblazers and the New York Knicks. His career averages are: 4.3 points, 6.6 rebounds (more than 5,400 rebounds in his career) and 1.24 blocked shots in 787 regular season games (296 starts). He led blocked shots for New Jersey in the 1990-91 and 1991-92 seasons and led Portland in blocked shots during the 1994-95 and 1995-96 schedules. Dudley excelled at Yale University by earning degrees in economics and political science, and becoming only the sixth basketball player at Yale to be drafted into the NBA. Dudley and his wife, Christine, have three children. He is active in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and enjoys weightlifting, swimming, reading, and travel.
