It has been an amazing year for Nikki Lang who, along with the Jazz vocal group from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, performed at The Monterey Jazz Festival after winning the top award as the best high school jazz vocal group in the country.
Following that, Nikki released her first CD, Time Has Stopped, which marks a year of work including collaboration with producer Jay Ferguson (Spirit, Jo Jo Gunne and the composer of many movies and television shows including The Office).
Dori Zuckerman writes: "Nikki Lang is one of the most refreshing artists I've heard in a long time. Her voice and lyrics are mature beyond her years. As the casting director for the producers of the movie High School Musical I've heard countless young singers perform and Nikki is at the very top. Poignant lyrics and memorable melodies accent this bright new singer/songwriter."
Nikki, who is now 16, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 10 has been undeterred in living life to the fullest and pursuing her dreams as a musician. Nikki has been as vigilant about her diabetes management as she has been about her music and is achieving success in two of the most important areas of her life.
Nikki is also an avid supporter of stem-cell research and sang background vocals for Mandy Pantinkin and Bernadette Peters for a CD put out to benefit the Christopher Reeve Foundation. She continues to sell out L.A. concert appearances at local clubs.
Nikki Lang's music can be heard on iTunes or CD Baby.
