By Tuesday, about 600 CWD families from around the world had arrived at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. South Registration opened at 9 a.m., with Julia, Mary, Jo, and Jill greeting those early birds who were in line right at opening. Registration was busy all day, and we began to see hundreds of bright orange Friends for Life t-shirts throughout the property!

Several receptions were held throughout the day. The Grandparents met for an afternoon coffee – many thanks to Grandparent group coordinators Betty Brackenridge, Heather Speer, and Bruce and Rachele Baccaro. The young adults spent a fun morning and early afternoon at Typhoon Lagoon water park, and returned in time for a get together at 4:00 p.m. In the evening, Adriana Cordoba, Adriana Rodenheiser, and Intissar Ben Halim hosted an International Reception for those families attending Friends for Life from outside the United States. This year, a dozen countries were represented, from as close as Canada and as far away as Egypt and Lithuania!

Also on Tuesday evening, conference volunteers and their families gathered for a thank you reception… volunteers donned their white-with-orange-lettering Volunteer shirts and joined their families for some yummy Disney ice cream snacks and beverages. Many thanks to Insulet Corporation for sponsoring this very important reception. Volunteers play such a crucial role in every successful conference, and it is important to say a proper 'Thank You!' to them and their families!

Sports Central opened on Tuesday (and stayed open through Friday evening) for conference participants young and old who wanted to play basketball or volleyball, or simply wanted some mat space to stretch and work out. CWD's Sports Coordinator Rick Philbin once again was coordinator for Sports Central. Many thanks to the athletes who supervised the activities in Sports Central: Judy and Danny Ambrosini, Jimmy Dodson, Jen Alexander, Doug Burns, and Bill King. A giant thank you to Novo Nordisk for once again sponsoring Sports Central!
