Registration for the 2010 Conference, Housing, and Childcare

• Conference Registration
  
  Conference Registration Includes:
  1. All sessions and session materials for adults and children
  2. Childcare for children under age 6
  3. Reception on Wednesday evening
  4. Breakfast, lunch, and beverage breaks on Thursday and Friday (Family and Friends Banquet tickets Thursday are extra)
  5. Friday Teen Dinner Dance, Tween Karaoke Social (no dinner), Young Adults Dinner (ages 18-30 with RSVP)
  6. Friday Dessert and Posters with the Faculty
  7. Saturday evening CWD Open House (dessert)
  8. Farewell Breakfast on Sunday
  9. One t-shirt per registered person
  10. Friday Off Site Day for teens (park ticket, lunch and snack included)

  Online registration is now closed. You may register on site beginning Tuesday, June 29.

  Cancellation policy:
  Cancellations prior to June 1, 2010 will be refunded minus a US$50 processing fee. After June 1, 2010, no refunds are available.

  Registration dates:
  

  • Early Registration is $310 per family through December 31, 2009
  • Regular Registration is $360 per family from January 1 through June 15, 2010
  • On Site Registration is $450 per family after June 15, 2010. Registrations will not be accepted between June 15 and the start of the conference -- you must register on site.
  • Individual Professional Registration or Single Person is $210 (CEUs are not offered)

• Housing Registration
  

  The Orlando World Center Marriott is one of the largest Marriott properties in the world. This venue, convenient to the Walt Disney World and Universal Studios theme parks, offers plenty of convention meeting space for Friends for Life as well as tremendous vacation and recreational opportunities for families who wish to 'stay and play' for a few days before or after the conference. The resort boasts six swimming pools and a 106' water slide at the main pool. There are outdoor basketball and sand volleyball courts as well as tennis courts. The Orlando World Center Resort Spa offers a wide variety of treatments and services as well as a quiet spa pool; it is adjacent to the state of the art fitness center. For those who enjoy golf, the Hawks Landing Golf Club is right on site.

  The Marriott World Center's luxurious hotel rooms include 2 double beds or a king bed (some rooms have pull-out sofas), high speed internet (fee for service), mini-bar, coffee maker, and cable with pay per view movies. There are several restaurants on site as well as a Pavilion Pool Bar which is open for lunch and dinner. There is also a Starbucks in the lobby.

  Room rates are $149 + tax. This rate is available from June 27, 2010 to July 9, 2010 for those families who might want to extend their vacation.

  Larger Suites may be reserved for hospitality events or entertaining, subject to availability. Suites are also available for larger families, again subject to availability. There are different types of suites and they have different prices; please contact the hotel directly for availability and pricing.

  For housing reservations, call Marriott reservations directly at 1-800-228-9290 or 800-621-0638 or use the Marriott's Online Reservation System. Be sure to say you are with the Children with Diabetes Friends for Life conference. The Children with Diabetes room block is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that you are only in the CWD room block – and only have the perks of being in the room block - if you make reservations through these phone numbers or website.

  Also, please note that this year's conference backs up to both the busy July 4 holiday weekend and the American Diabetes Association annual Scientific Sessions conference, which is a city-wide event the weekend prior to Friends for Life. The Marriott World Center Resort will be quite crowded and will likely sell out for both weekends. If you plan to vacation for a few days around the conference, please make your reservations as soon as possible.

• Childcare
  
  • Childcare Registration
    Childcare is limited to the first 100 children. You must fill out the registration form (Word or PDF format) and return it according to the instructions in the form. Childcare Registrations will be accepted only after you have registered for the conference.

  Every family must sign the conference waiver at registration.
