Logan Florez was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on September 8, 1999 when he was just 14 months old. His diagnosis shocked and devastated us. Thankfully, after almost three years of living with diabetes, things are normal again -- or at least a different kind of normal. I don't with this to be normal for anyone, and I desparately hope for a cure, but until then I can say that Logan is such a big trooper, and an amazing, bright, and comical four-year-old. He is an awesome big brother to our nine-month-old daughter, and is setting the best example for her on how to live happily and energetically in the face of adversity. We are very proud of him!
