Kari is 12 years old and lives in Nevada with her parents and four sisters. She was diagnosed with diabetes on November 23, 2001 when she was 11 1/2. Kari is looking forward to starting 7th grade in the fall of 2002. She really enjoys playing basketball, drawing, writing stories, and playing with her friends.

Kari has always been very courageous and responsible since her diagnosis. We really appreciate her willingness to be "in control" of her diabetes.
