Hannah Schuelke
Diagnosed February 15, 1997
Hannah was diagnosed with diabetes 2 months before her 12th birthday. Since her father is also diabetic, it wasn't a total shock when the diagnosis was received. Hannah has not let diabetes slow her down at all. She has been active in track, cross country, band, and the musicals at her school. She also has been a member of the city's swim team. The last two summers she has worked as a life guard. Four years ago Hannah started using a MiniMed pump, which has allowed her to continue to lead such an active life. Hannah will be a senior in high school this year and is looking forward to attending college after graduation.
