Diagnosed April 1, 2004
Rachel was diagnosed with diabetes in April 2004 when she was 8 1/2 years old. She started pumping in April 2005. She is very independent with managing her health and hopes some day for a cure.
This year, she and her family participated in the JDRF walk to help raise money for diabetes research. She plans to make this an annual event.
Rachel is a fun loving, energetic and bright 11 year old. She enjoys gymnastics, golf, bowling, swimming, kick ball, and most of all, just spending time with family and friends.
Her quilt shows her enjoying some of her favorite activities. The fabrics were chosen by her and stitched by her mom, Jennifer.
