Diagnosed November 17, 2008JZ's quilt was made in the Crossroads pattern and represents "Diabetes Research at a Crossroads' -- the path we take will determine the future for kids like JZ.
Today, he knows he'll develop diabetes. Science has gotten to the point to predict this, but there is no way to stop the disease from progressing. He ponders, "Why?" Not a please crossroad.
This quilt was created by JZ's mom and another mom whose son was in the DPT (Diabetes Prevention Trials) and now is a type 1 diabetic (quilt 566). We understand the importance of not stopping at the current crossroad, but pressing on to be able to prevent diabetes in these kids.
