Trent Gardner lives in Westchester County, New York with his parents, Tim Gardner and Michelle Rago, and his little sister, Michela. He was diagnosed less than a week after his fourth birthday and will enter first grade in September 2002. He is a friendly, outgoing young man who loves people, animals, and nature. He and his parents -- with wise management of his diabetes, both physically and emotionally -- don't let his diabetes hinder a lively, active lifestyle. His pump and emergency kit just go with him wherever he goes!

Trent, and everyone in his immediate and extended family (4 grandparents, 16 aunts and uncles, and 15 cousins) all hope that increased research will find a cure before Trent gets much older!
