Diagnosed February 9, 2002
Hi, my name is Kara Leavitt and I am two years old. I live in Alta Loma, California. I was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on February 9, 2002. My mommy didn't know what was wrong with me when I was so sick. But once she and my family found out, they have all been working so hard to take care of me. I am so lucky.
I don't like it when I have to have my shots or finger pricks, but I don't cry. I am trying so hard to be a big girl. I hope a cure is found soon so my mommy and daddy can stop worrying so much.
Thank you so much to my friend Dawn Johnson for making this quilt for me. She even made sure I have a matching quilt so my mommy can tell me all about how this came about when I grow up.
