David was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in February 2002, just four days before his ninth birthday. He was our "candy kid," so it was quite an adjustment for him, but he has done well. He does most of his injections (three a day) and all of his blood testing (four to six times a day). He has four brothers and sisters and this has been quite an education for all of them. David is very excited about his quilt. We are pleased we can take part in all of this.
