CAMP BUCK
Summer Camp Program For Children with Diabetes
August 12 - August 18 2007
At Lake Tahoe, Stateline, Nevada

CAMP BUCK
Kids have a great time at camp! Camp Buck is the premier camp program of the Nevada Diabetes Association for Children and Adults. This co-ed camp provides children, ages 8 to 16, a week long summer camping experience for children with diabetes. The camp offers a unique combination of learning and fun. The children develop a better understanding of their diabetes while participating in a week of recreational and athletic activities. Through the education provided by the medical staff and the leadership of the counselors, campers learn the importance of good self-management of their diabetes.

This year Camp Buck moves to a state of the art camp facility located just outside of Portola California. The Camper Villages are situated around a large meadow (which happens to be a great place to run and play) and are connected to the Dining Lodge and our other facilities with wide hard-surface walkways. Each cabin has its own restroom while shower facilities are located in the Activity Lodge. The cabins are air conditioned as needed in the summer and are heated in winter.

Activities include a challege course, sports court, archery range, fishing, kayaking, swimming, arts and crafts building, a multi-purpose hall, and amphitheater that has seen high drama and slap-stick, and of course a campfire area for those special moments of togetherness.
