Camp Sugar Falls
A summer day camp for kids with diabetes in Tennessee
American Diabetes Association's Camp Sugar Falls will take place August 3 to 7, 2009 at Camp Widjiwagan in Antioch, Tennessee.The camp is for children with diabetes and their siblings, ages 6-12. The fee is $75 per camper, and takes place 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Activities include education sessions, and athletics and exercise in a safe and supervised environment. Campers need to bring a sack lunch, swimsuit, and towel each day. Two snacks and drinks will be provided by the camp, thanks to generous. Should a waiting list develop, children with diabetes will be given first priority, then any non-diabetic siblings will have second priority.
The goal of camp is to instill and reinforce a positive attitude about coping with diabetes, learn about healthy and active lifestyle habits, and be around others who have diabetes.
