Camp Vegas

The Nevada Diabetes Association for Children and Adults (NDACA) and the Diabetes Society are co-sponsoring Camp Vegas for children 8 to 13. Camp Vegas is a co-ed camp at beautiful Mt. Potosi, located approximately 30 miles Southwest of Las Vegas. Nevada. The camp provides a week of activities, education and programs for children with diabetes in Southern Nevada and neighboring Arizona communities. Activities include, arts and crafts, hiking, campfires, sports and games.

Under the direction of NDACA Medical Director Claude K. Lardinois, M.D. FACP, FACN, Chief, Department of Endocrinology USOM along with a dedicated medical and camp supervisory staff, children learn to self manage their diabetes, share their feelings, and experience fun and fellowship.

Eligibility and Fees
Campers
Children with diabetes age 8 through age 15, who receive medical clearance from their doctor and camp medical director.

Fees
The cost for Camp Vegas is US$349 including bus transportation from Las Vegas, meals, and accommodations (cabins).

Camp Scholarships are available.
Applications are available through the Diabetes Society office.

 

Mt. Potosi
Mt. Potosi, location of Camp Vegas. There are over eleven miles of hiking and nature trails with magnificent vistas. Daytime temperatures are at least 20 degrees cooler than in the Las Vegas Valley.
