Kids: Here'S The Scoop On Camp
The best thing about diabetes camp is making friends who know exactly what it's like to have diabetes. You never have to explain what it's like to be high or low, or how tough it can be to stick to your meal plan, or any of the other things that go along with having diabetes. Camp friends last a lifetime!Of course, other things about camp are great, too! At CBC, you can choose from a variety of daily activities such as…
Swimming... Boating and Fishing... Arts and Crafts... New Games and Initiatives... Dancing... Soccer... Field Hockey... Softball... Archery... Hiking... Nature... Tennis... Horseback Riding... Cooking... Drama... Newspaper... and more!
Camp also includes special events like trips and theme days and dances and other events with the boys from the Elliott P. Joslin Camp (three miles away).

Here's what one father has to say about the Clara Barton Diabetes Center:
My daughter has had diabetes for 3 years, since age 10. It seemed pretty bleak until we discovered a diabetes camp for girls in central Massachusetts. She attended a February program on the long weekend school break. Prior to this, she thought that she was the only kid in the world with diabetes, and would not administer her own shots or test without a struggle. After that weekend, she began giving her own shots and would test without too much encouragement. What a miracle!! We saved our money and sent her to the camp that summer and there, she made fast friends.
