Teen Adventure Camp is held at Covenant Point Bible Camp, located on the scenic shores of Hagerman Lake in Iron River, Michigan. Bus service is provided from two Chicaoland locations.Triangle D Camp is held at YMCA Camp Duncan, a 400 acre setting on semi-private Fish Lake on Route 12 just north of Route 120 in Ingleside, Illinois (map). Parents are responsible for transportation to and from camp.
Camp Education Programs
Teen Adventure Camp and Triangle D Camp combine a program of summer activities with a program of diabetes education and support. Both components are designed to challenge each child to reach toward their maximum potential, both mentally and physically. The campers are actively involved in managing their diabetes. Goals for campers include improved self-esteem, taking responsibility for diabetes management, and social adjustment in a new setting away from home.

The activities are planned for the interest and skill level of each age group and are designed to provide new and different experiences for campers each year.
Meal Plan
The camp meal plan is consistent with the current recommendations of the American Diabetes Association based on the exchange system and carbohydrate counting, with modifications in fat, fiber, and salt content. We regret that we cannot accommodate any special diets at camp.Cost
The cost for each one week session is $750 for ADA members in the Northern Illinois area and $850 for nonmembers in the Northern Illinois area. The cost for out-of-area campers is $950.Please DO NOT let the cost stop you from sending us your child's applications--camperships, fee reductions and time payment schedules can be arranged.
Please do not send any payment with the initial application.
Camper Registration
- The American Diabetes Association does not discriminate based on race, creed, national origin, gender, or special needs. Registrations/requests for applications are processed on a first come, first served basis** pending review/acceptance by the medical members of the camp committee.
- No child is denied the opportunity to attend the camp due to lack of funds.
- Directions to camp and a list of "what to bring" will be provided in the acceptance packet. For additional information, call Sue at 312-346-1805 or 1-888-342-2383, x-6567.
**First-come, first-served is defined as: the date the original forms mailed out are returned to the ADA office complete and ready to process. Facsimiles are not accepted.

- The Physician Form - must be completed and signed by the child's doctor.
- Child History Form - must be completed and signed by a parent.
- Diet Form - must be completed by a parent.
- Counselor/therapist Form (if applicable) - must be completed and signed by the child's counselor or therapist.
- No facsimiles accepted.
- Incomplete Applications will be RETURNED (i.e. missing forms, missing signatures, or incomplete immunization records).
