Diabetes Camp at Crestfield
Sponsored by the American Diabetes Association, Crestfield partners with the ADA to offer Diabetes Camp. Filled with outdoor adventure, diabetes education, and an entire community of youth with diabetes, this camp is spectacular. An experienced team of physicians and nurses are on call around the clock to ensure the health of campers. Registration for this camp is done through the ADA.
Campfire activities highlight some evenings with songs, games, and discussions by campers. There is time each day for campers to enjoy freedom from routine when they can make their own kind of fun, write letters, read stories or just relax in the beautiful camp setting.
In addition to these recreational camping experiences, children learn about their diabetes and develop skills enabling them to control and cope with their diabetes. The combination of recreational activities and informal diabetes management education, gives a child with diabetes a positive experience that will last a lifetime.
