A summer day camp for children with diabetes

Camp runs for four one-week sessions in 2007:
Session I: July 9-13
Session II: July 16-20
Session III: July 24-27
Session IV: July 30-August 3

What is Camp Kyle?
Camp Kyle is a four week day camp sponsored by the Diabetes Association Inc. for children with diabetes and their siblings and friends. Camp Buxton located in Rehoboth Massachusetts Camp Buxton provides the ideal environment for camp--plenty of wooded trails for hiking, and playing fields for sports and games.

Our Mission
Camp Kyle fosters friendships among young people with diabetes, their siblings, and friends through a safe, fun, active program while enabling them to learn about and face the common challenges of diabetes.

Why Camp Kyle?
Camp Kyle's ideal enrollment of sixty campers per week and a staff-to-camper ratio of one-to-three ensure a quality camp program in which campers received plenty of attention, supervision and a variety of camp experiences. Camp Kyle is accredited by the American Camping Association. We also offer bus transportation.

Camp Kyle is a friendly place where youth with diabetes, their siblings and friends benefit from hands-on learning experiences in diabetes management and support. The following help ensure your child's health and safety while at Camp Kyle:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) on site
  • Local pediatrician as the camp Health Care Consultant
  • Staff who are trained by a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)
  • Staff members who are trained in First Aid and CPR
  • Policies and procedures in compliance with the MA Dept. of Public health

Camp Kyle Summer Program Offers:

  • Arts and Crafts
  • Nature Studies/Environmental Awareness
  • Sports, Games, and Play
  • Nutrition Lessons
  • Special Activities
  • Junior counselor program for teens with diabetes available for teens with diabetes 15-18

Camp Fees
Camp Kyle is free to all children with diabetes who live in our service area.
