Message from the Chairman for May 9, 1999

Do you know who Doug Burns is? I just read about him and am amazed at his story. Doug has set an American record in Power weight lifting. Doug has had type 1 diabetes for over 30 years now and recalls that when he was 14, skinny and not so healthy, he began to read a magazine about body building. Within a couple of years of working out, Doug was playing football for his high school and was named most valuable running back.

Doug took charge of his life and his diabetes. "It gave me a positive influence and a 'Yes, I can' type of mentality." Doug's goals today are to win the Mr. America and Mr. Universe body building championships.

Way to go Doug. We're rooting for you.

Yours Truly,

John Ratzenberger
