Patti Geil, MS, RD, FADA, CDE, is a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator who enjoys translating the science of nutrition into the art of great eating. Patti has more than 20 years experience in the field of diabetes in areas ranging from pediatric care to clinical research. She is active in several professional organizations including the American Diabetes Association, the American Association of Diabetes Educators, and the American Dietetic Association. Patti currently works in a private practice setting, counseling people with all types of diabetes. As owner of Geil Nutrition Communications, Patti gives presentations, writes nutrition articles and cookbooks and does media work for a variety of clients. She has authored five books: Magic Beans, The White House Cookbook, The Carbohydrate Counting Cookbook, Diabetes Meals on $7 a Day-or-Less, and 101 Nutrition Tips for People with Diabetes.
