The Children With Diabetes CoPilot Web-Based Data Management System offers an online alternative to PC-based data management. Join us for a special chat about CoPilot on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at 9pm Eastern in the CoPilot chat room.
A key advantage for users is that you need only go to the CWD website to perform your data management activities; there is no software that you need to order and install since it is all loaded on the site itself. In the same way, maintenance and upgrades of the program, whenever they occur, are all done for you. And the program is not confined to a single PC. It is accessible wherever the Web is accessible. Best of all, it is FREE.
The CWD CoPilot System is a convenient and effective tool to convert your, or your child's, blood glucose data to a variety of graphical and report formats for analysis by you and/or a Health Care Provider. The data is entered into the System by an electronic upload, if you are using either a FreeStyle Blood Glucose Monitoring System or a FreeStyle Tracker Diabetes Management System, or by manual entry. Easy-to-navigate screens with drop-down menus and short text entry blocks let you optionally add other logbook-related information to the file: insulin, medications, exercise, meals, state of health and related comments.
Additional valuable functions of the System are the ability to e-mail or fax reports directly to Health Care Providers and also to designate "permission" to one or more Providers, giving them access to view, or even fully maintain, the patient record.
The CWD CoPilot System has been developed for CWD through the sponsorship of TheraSense. A special CoPilot Help Desk is available to users at email@example.com.
After registration and log-in, the Start Page shows you how to fully navigate the site.
Go to "Upload from Device" to perform an electronic data upload from either a FreeStyle meter or the FreeStyle Tracker. Click on the appropriate image to proceed.
After upload or manual entry of data, you can then "Run Reports" that represents the data in graphical form.
Reports can then be forwarded by e-mail or fax to one or more Health Care Providers to whom you have given "permission" in the System. A cover note can accompany the Report.
