We aren't selling any tickets on site (for banquet or the Saturday breakfast), but there are usually people who want to sell extras they have. It always works out - we'll have a message board at registration so you can post that you're looking for a ticket.

Tues is the Young Adults at the water park day. They are going to Typhoon Lagoon - on their own. I'll have to go online (or someone else can) to see the price of the ticket. We don't get any special deal there. The young adults (ages 18-25) are going over after breakfast. Coming back mid-afternoon. This isn't a teen day - it's for adults 18+. No parents or staff are going.

John - remind me how old Jared is. Depending on the child's age, they bring different items with them. Elementary and childcare do not bring meters. Tweens and teens do. We have glucose in all rooms. We also have CDEs in all rooms. We will check bg if a child doesn't look well or says they don't feel well, and we will come get a parent if a bg is out of range or if a child needs you. We don't hesitate to interrupt a session. Our presenters are used to that.

The email confirmation is for you to bring so that you know what you have paid for. We have a database that shows what you paid for, and we also have the registration forms that you mailed or faxed... so, there are lots of ways to check if there is a question.

For those who haven't been there before, know that Laura is the consummate event planner and there isn't a detail that has been overlooked. They find the parents so quickly when a child needs mom or dad.

Hi John - 9 is elementary (older elementary, but still elementary). You keep his meter with you. We will have a meter to check if he needs to be checked... but remember that every 75 minutes you will be picking him up for a snack or lunch... so you can check bg and get food/bev, and do bathroom break, etc. The breaks are 45 minutes and lunch is 90 minutes. Lots of time to take care of everything. Reminder that we do not allow elementary or childcare kids to leave the room without a parent fetching them. So parents Please be on time after sessions!

John - We feed everyone. Snacks will be on big buffet tables outside the exhibit hall. Snacks for 3,000. You pick up your child from their session and go get snack. You figure carbs and give insulin. It's up to you as the parent. For children in childcare (under age 6), we will have a snack buffet for little ones set up right outside childcare. Parents can come and select snack right there and bring it into childcare. That cuts down on the coming in/going out time for childcare which can eat up a lot of break.

Lots and lots and lots of kids. If your child is nervous about not making a friend... tell them not to be nervous. It is impossible not to make friends at a FFL conference. If your child needs help making a friend, please find me on Tuesday or Weds, and I will introduce you to the group leader and also to a couple of 'old timer' kiddos in that age group - so voila - instant friend to hang out with and meet others. It really does happen quickly. Anyone going to be there on Monday by the pool?

Yes, 12 year old is Tween - Tweens and teens should have their meters with them. Make SURE that you write your name and cell phone number in the meter and tape it down. At the end of the day when we have 25 black cases in lost and found, they all look the same!

Call the hotel and tell them. They will note your broken ankle on your reservation. I can't call and request for you - you need to do it. 407-939-1020. You know, even the CLOSE buildings aren't that close because the convention center is very spread out. If a person truly needs help getting around, I suggest staying in any building that has a parking spot right near the room, and then drive around the resort to the Convention Center and park right there. It's much easier.

Laura, can people who need childcare on Wed (short periods of time) post something on the bulletin board or whatever will be at registration? Maybe some of the teens will be available to help out. Our daughter Kathryn watched a few kids one year when a hired sitter failed to show up.
