Back to Lancets and Lancing Devices BD Ultra Fine Lancets

Lancet image The BD Ultra Fine lancet looks very different than other lancets, probably because the metal doesn't extend the length of the lancet. The point is extremely fine and kids and adults love it. Children who've used the lancet all agree it's one of the best and least painful they've used.

Recapping is easy. The top cap is removed to expose the point and replaced after use. The point doesn't stick into anything, so very little pressure is needed to recap, making it very easy for children to use. Excellent safety design! However, you can't tell a used lancet from an unused one unless you turn the cap around and stick the point into the plastic cap. Highly recommended.

Review updated July 4, 2001

The reviews of products are the opinion of children with DIABETES. Each product is reviewed with a single purpose: to determine if the product is suitable for use by children with type 1 diabetes, their parents, and, to a lesser degree, adults with type 1 diabetes. There are many products aimed at adults with type 2 diabetes that are not appropriate or suitable for children or adults with type 1 diabetes.
