Back to Lancets and Lancing Devices BD Ultra Fine II Lancets

BDTM ULTRA-FINETM lancets are available in 30 or 33 gauge. The 30 gauge is very thin, and the 33 gauge is the thinnest on the market (as of February 2004). The 30 gauge lancets were already the most popular lancet among our readers, and the new 33 gauge -- designed for use with BD's BD Logic and Latitude blood glucose meters -- should prove equally popular.

The ULTRA-FINE has always been easy to use -- just insert into the lancing device, pop off the top of the lancet, and you're all set. The only problem is that you can't tell a used lancet from an unused one. That's a minor issue, but one that bears attention if you or your child stuff diabetes care products into a carrying case. Given the thin size, BD's ULTRA-FINE lancets are Highly recommended.

B-DTM ULTRA-FINETMII Evaluation

  • Ease of Use: 10

  • Overall: 37

Review updated February 22, 2004

The reviews of products are the opinion of children with DIABETES. Each product is reviewed with a single purpose: to determine if the product is suitable for use by children with type 1 diabetes, their parents, and, to a lesser degree, adults with type 1 diabetes. There are many products aimed at adults with type 2 diabetes that are not appropriate or suitable for children or adults with type 1 diabetes.
