The Diabetes Exchange Kit is a small hand held device that is used to count down the number of allowed exchanges during a day. Attached to the back of the device is a fold-out paper Exchange List to help you determine appropriate exchnages to "count off" when you're eating out. Also included small Personal Daily Meal Plan cards, color coded to match the exchange colors on the device, as well as a small booklet with health tips. Everything fits into a plastic carrying case that fits easily in a purse or shirt pocket.
The Diabetes Exchange Kit was designed and developed by licensed psychotherapist who specializes in helping people with diabetes and who has a child with Type 1 diabetes. The Diabetes Exchange Kit can be ordered directly from HealthCounts, the manufacturer, for US$14.95 plus US$2.95 shipping. HealthCounts donates 10% of its profits from sales to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
