California Assembly Sends American Diabetes Association School Diabetes Care Legislation to Governor Davis

On the closing day of the California legislative session, the California Assembly passed AB 481, legislation that will improve conditions for children with diabetes in California public schools. AB 481 requires school administrators to be trained to assist children with diabetes to check their blood glucose levels and administer medication. The California School Nurses Organization and the California Medical Association are supporters of AB 481.

All diabetes advocates are urged to contact Governor Gray Davis to urge his support of AB 481. The Governor's contact information is:
