Hello my name is Norma. I am now 25 yrs old and have had diabetes since I was 15 -- that's ten years now. I have learned to live with it and control it. Let me just inform you when I was diagnosed when I was 15 I just went to the doctor for a visit because I weight 85 pounds. I would go to the restroom every 15 minutes. When I went to the doctor she told me I had diabetes.
It was really hard for me. I told my dad and mom and I cried with them. The doctor told me I had diabetes and that I had to go to the emergency room. I wanted to talk to my brothers and inform them to warn them, so I went home. Then the doctor called insisiting I go to the emergency room. So I went and almost all my Christmas there, from December 12 to 23.
When I arrived at the emergency room, my sugar level was 786. Now that is pretty high, but thank God I survived. I see all your profiles and rememnds me of the time I was diagnosed but please make your parents feel you love yourself and will take care of yourself. If you're not feeling good, let someone know. Love your parents -- they will be the ones to give you more support. Thank you for reading my story. If you want to chat or talk, email me at grayeyes070677[@]aol.com or grayeyes070677[@]yahoo.com.
