JDF International Chairman Mary Tyler Moore Meets with Canadian Prime MinisterJDF International Chairman Mary Tyler Moore met with Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien and Health Minister Allan Rock recently during a visit to Ottawa for a lecture series. Ms. Moore discussed the necessity of federal funding for diabetes research and the essential partnership between JDF and the US Government. JDF Canada has been very busy in government relations working on federal Canadian funding for research by hosting their first Canadian Government Day in the Parliament. Approximately 40 JDF volunteers and their families visited with 50 Members of Parliament. Late last year, JDF Canada met with Minister of Health Allan Rock to discuss a National Diabetes Strategy for securing increased funds for diabetes research. Keep up the great work JDF Canada!
