Camp Nejeda is located in New Jersey and I have been attending for five years. At first I was afraid to go but once you get there you are relieved. Everyone has diabetes and doesn't make you feel any different. There are many different sessions and types of camp to attend. I have only attend the regular two week sessions available but I love it. It's located in a quiet and woodsy area - which has a huge lake. I think I like the lake the best!
The sessions are divided up into age groups so the fourteen year olds are never with the eight year olds which is also great. They have a lot of different activities to choose from I like to choose, such as drama, zoo (feeding the donkeys we have), swimming, archery, crafts, boating, and much more. They also have off site trips like canoeing, shawnee (for youngsters), Mountain Creek, a baseball game (for the very tiny children), and Dorney Park (for the oldest campers). It's really fun!
If you are interested in talking to me about anything please feel free to e-mail me at either ERYN83@aol.com or Mo2000@diabetes.zzn.com!
