Diabetes care is part of life, so we often find ourselves checking blood sugars, taking insulin, and changing infusion sets in interesting places and at interesting times. Here are some great examples of people living life to the fullest and taking care of their diabetes at the same time.

Kimberley-Paige (age 11) with daddy James, testing her blood sugar at an authentic african market outside of Johannesburg, South Africa in May 2005 (a typical "african winter's day). Kimberley-Paige was born in South Africa and moved to the USA when she was 2. Every few years we go back to South Africa for a visit. Kimberley-Paige was diagnosed type 1 in Feb 2005 and is doing an exceptional job! We are very proud of her! She's our star.

Samantha (age 11) is testing her blood sugar after walking across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco on May 14, 2005. Her Girl Scout Junior Troop "bridged" to Cadets! She was diagnosed November 2003, and has been on the pump for 7 months.

This is Amy (9 years old) doing a finger poke on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. Amy was there in November 2004 for JDRF Kids for a Cure Lobby Day. Amy did a great job checking her sugar level and she did a great job lobbying our government for more funding for a cure.
