Question:
What type of insulin will my daughter be using with her new insulin pump?

Answer:
The Brand Name of the Regular insulin that is used in pumps is Novolin BR (BR stands for Buffered Regular). It does cost more, but most diabetes experts (and most pump patients) have tried other products, which don't seem to work as well.

Your Diabetes Team will have starter supplies of this product for people who are beginning pump therapy.

Additional comments from Jeff Hitchcock, The Editor:

Today, most people use Humalog in their pumps.
