Question:
I have heard so much about the effect of dairy and the development of diabetes in children that are predisposed to the disease. This is such a politically charged issue, it's hard to get a "straight" answer. What is the latest thinking regarding this?

Answer:
Sounds like you're living in a dairy state (or a dairy state-of-mind!)?

There was a study published last year that linked the onset of diabetes to the drinking of cow's milk, in Finland, if we recall correctly. The authors had some pretty strange logic as to why.

Fortunately, their study didn't show a super-high correlation between diabetes and cow-milk. We're still letting our kids (with or without diabetes) drink milk!
