We had two children diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. Why don't doctors try to identify the virus that caused the disease in the first place and treat that virus (there is anti-viral medicine for herpes zoster, the number one virus detected in juvenile diabetics) instead of only focusing on treatment? Our one child, age twelve, was treated for this virus, homeopathically, of course, and she went entirely off insulin after four months. The other, age twenty-two will undergo treatment soon. Our daughter was uncontrollable and responded well. I am interested to know what the AJA is doing to research this approach. Thank you from a thankful Mom!
Many studies to try to find a viral cause of diabetes have been unable to identify a viral culprit; it seems much more likely that a viral illness might become a trigger for a genetically-susceptible person to develop diabetes.
Also, studies have shown that anti-immune therapy can delay the onset of diabetes in susceptible individuals, but unfortunately this therapy can't prevent diabetes.
There is a major study underway right now, to attempt to prevent diabetes: it's called the DPT-I, and will take several years to sign up enough volunteers: maybe your kids should be evaluated for this study.
As an aside, we wonder if your 12-year-old is in a prolonged diabetes honeymoon; please keep this possibility in mind rather than making assumptions about the role of homeopathic therapy.
