Question:

My son has had diabetes for 7 years. He is now 14 years old. He has become very angry with diabetes and sometimes takes it out on me. Recently, he was invited to go to Disney World with a friend of his and his family for a two week vacation. I can not decide if he should go as I am worried he will have a lot of "lows". How can I decide to let him go?

Answer:

Let him go!

Set up mutually-agreed upon guidelines for the trip, such as when to check blood sugars, and what to carry for lows.
