Question:

From Louisiana, USA:

Our teenaged son (16 years old) was diagnosed 7-31-96 [a month ago]. Still trying to get blood sugar down. He lost so much weight that he is only injecting in his front thighs. Any tips?

Answer:

Two tips:

  • Make sure he is getting enough to eat; he probably needs around 4,000 to 5,000 calories per day. He'll need to see a dietitian to help him develop his own meal plan.
  • He can try using the Inject-Ease if he wants to try injecting elsewhere.
