Question:

From Canada:

Would you please be able to give me some information as to the first signs of diabetes in a 14 year old male?

Answer:

Symptoms that a teenager (or people of other ages) might notice include:

  • Thirst (sometimes called polydipsia in medical jargon),
  • hunger (polyphagia),
  • frequent urination (polyuria),
  • fatigue,
  • weight loss,
  • blurry vision,
  • extra infections, and
  • poor healing of cuts and other minor injuries.
