Question:

From Toronto, Ontario, Canada:

Our daughter is 7 and was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last year. We are health professionals (my wife is a Diabetes nurse). We continue to have frequent leakage from the upper arm injection site. We use the BD 29 gauge, 1/2 inch needle and 7 units total insulin. Our daughter really wants to continue this site. Any suggestions?

Answer:

  1. Make sure you let go of the pinched skin before injecting the insulin.
  2. Use sites that don't leak.
  3. Try the Inject-Ease®.
